How do you wash mushrooms?
Mushrooms are able to be washed with water, however it is not recommended to use these methods for delicate mushrooms. It is best to use a damp towel or paper towel to clean the surface of the mushroom before using any other type of cleaner.
To wash mushrooms, one must fill a large bowl or pot with water and set the mushrooms immersed to allow for them to be properly cleaned before cooking. After filling the bowl or pot with water, it is important to cover it and allow the mushrooms to soak for about ten minutes so they can release sand and other debris on their skin.
